Where’s Waldo?
He’s with DreamWorks now, along with He-Man and Capser the Friendly Ghost.
The characters and their universes were part of DreamWorks’ acquistion of Classic Media for $155 million.
Classic Media was founded by Eric Ellenbogen (formerly of Marvel Entertainment) and John Engelman in 2000, with the aim of acquiring characters that had been forgotten or poorly promoted. The pair will remain in charge of the newly branded DreamWorks Classics division.
He-Man, Casper the Friendly Ghost, Lassie and Fat Albert are included in the 450 titles in Classic Media’s portfolio.
Also purchased by DreamWorks include Noddy, Postman Pat, Basil Brush, Where’s Waldo/Wally?, Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, The Lone Ranger, Richie Rich, Rocky and Bullwinkle, Felix the Cat, Mr Magoo, and Dick Tracy among others.
The move will open up the possibility of DreamWorks producing new adaptations of classic characters, while also being able to distribute to other studios.

They did a preview of it at San Diego Comic-Con a week or so ago, and I think there’s a video out there of the preview they did… I think…
