ComicCon Panel Previews “Fringe”

ComicCon Panel Previews “Fringe”

July 16, 2012 By Mike Hickerson Leave a Comment

Warning: If you haven’t seen season four of Fringe and/or don’t want to know information about the upcoming fifth season, please stop reading now.  There are SPOILERS ahead for both.

The final day of San Diego ComicCon kicked off with fan favorite Fringe taking the stage.  During the panel, featuring the cast and producer J.H. Wyman, several hint about the upcoming final season were dropped.

As previously reported, the upcoming season will take place in 2036.  We saw a glimpse of that future in season four with the Observers ruling Earth.   But we also found out that the Fringe team knows how to defeat the Observers and that will reportedly play a role in the season’s story arc.

Actors Anna Torv and Joshua Jackson were asked about the fate of Olivia and Peter and whether the two would have a “happy ending.”

“I think that these two will get the final chapter of their story,” Jackson said and Torv agreed.

Wyman also admitted that he felt like the show should end where season one began when he initially began plotting out how season five would go.  However, he says that he’s had a couple of other ideas since that time and he’s still working on the most satisfying finale for the series.
