Which Horror Franchise Is Getting a Reboot?

Which Horror Franchise Is Getting a Reboot?

June 27, 2012 By Mike Hickerson 4 Comments

It’s only been a couple of years since Cabin Fever first tried to scare audiences, but that’s not stopping them from starting again.

A reboot called Cabin Fever: Patient Zero is in the works and it’s added a high profile actor to the project. Former Lord of the Rings star Sean Austin has signed on for the lead role. He joins Brando Eaton and Ben Hollingsworth in the cast.

The story kicks off when a bachelor party cruise in the Caribbean unexpectedly runs ashore on a medical-research island and a deadly virus is unleashed. The passengers must struggle to find a way to survive before their own demons and the flesh-eating bacteria consumes them all.

A better question is “Which horror franchise ISN’T getting a reboot?”

I assume there is still a cabin in there somewhere?

Lots of cabins all over a cruise ship – and we ran it into the woods … it’s obvious.

Now they can cross over into that other movie with a similar name, too.

Why call it a reboot? It isn’t like they made a bunch of movies and decided to go in a new direction or really start over. They pretty much did that with the second movie. They should buy back all the copies of that abomination and burn them.

It used to be that twenty years went by between remakes of a movie. Have they gotten to the point that writers can’t come up with new ideas?

On another tack, they should forbid M. Night Shyamalan from making any more sad movies (OK, he got one of them right and ever since then…) and give his gigs to Josh Whedon.
