With Mariana Klaveno unable to take on the role of Lily Munster in the upcoming Mockingbird Lane, actress Portia De Rossi has been cast in the role.
Written by Bryan Fuller and to be directed by Bryan Singer, Mockingbird Lane is described as a reinvention of the 1960s sitcom about The Munsters, a family of “monsters” — vampires, werewolves and Frankenstein, and their “plain” cousin (Charity Wakefield) — that will feature striking visuals in the vein of Fuller’s ABC dramedy Pushing Daisies. Jerry O’Connell plays family patriarch Herman Munster, who is married to Lily (de Rossi), a vampire, with whom he has fathered a 10-year-old boy, Eddie (Mason Cook). Eddie Izzard plays Grandpa. The role of Lily was played by Yvonne De Carlo in the original series.

I still can’t believe they freaking chose O’Connell over David Tennant. Granted, Tennant is far too talented for this , but still…
You said ‘Pushing Daisies’. Now it’s doomed. That show was too cool for television. I hope this one ‘lives’ longer. I still don’t get the monster (infused with the force of life itself) and a (was she really a?) vampire having a child that is a werewolf. I thought that werewolf was a recessive gene.
