Which “TNG” Episodes Can You Catch on the Silver Screen?

June 4, 2012 By Mike Hickerson 1 Comment

To celebrate the Blu-Ray release of Star Trek: The Next Generation, Paramount will host screenings of the new HD transfers of two first-season episodes at a theater near you.

TrekMovie reports that local theaters will show “Where No One Has Gone Before” and “Datalore” on Monday, July 23 at 7 p.m.  The Blu-Rays hit stores on Tuesday, July 24.

The event will include a behind-the-scenes look at upgrading the series for Blu-Ray release as well as interviews with cast members and behind-the-scenes crew.   If you attend, you’ll also get a sneak peek at work being done to one of Next Gen’s classic episodes, “The Measure of a Man” for the season two release.

Tickets go on sale on Friday, June 8th to the general public at FathomEvents.com

TrekMovie has a full list of theaters participating in the event.  You can check there to find the location closest to you.

Oh man, I would LOVE to see TNG on the big screen in HD!

Troi: “I sense a strong feeling of jealousy from you tensaibaka.”
Worf: “Counselor, I must advise caution. Jealousy can turn to anger very quickly.”
Geordi: “My visor is picking up a little bit of a temperature rise from tensaibaka.”
Data: “There is a 99% chance that tensaibaka might do something rash if indeed it is jealousy.”
Riker: “Advise we put a force field around tensaibaka to contain any anger that might arise.”
Picard: “I’m sure we can come to some sort of diplomatic solution, without the need for violent actions.”
Wesley: “Captain, since there aren’t any restrictions on BluRay regions, how about we just tell tensaibaka that he can purchase from Amazon US and watch them on his 46″ screen at home?”

…and the TNG crew saves the universe again.

Guinan: “Here, while you wait for the BluRay release, let me pour you a Samarian Sunset.”
