The Fraggle Rock movie has taken a step closer to becoming a reality with news that Jim Byrkit and Alex Manugian have been tapped to write the script.
Byrkit and Manugian wrote the script for last year’s Oscar winning animated feature Rango.
Based on the popular television show from the 80’s, the project has been in development since 2011.
Initially a Canadian series that became a hit internationally, Rock told the adventures of a group of cave-dwelling puppet creatures called Fraggles. In their lives are a race of small industrious creatures named Doozers, who live in the caves, and the Gorgs, furry giants who look at Fraggles as nuisances.
Awesome. I loved Fraggle Rock, and I was a teenager when it was showing.
I vaguely remember it…if we’re going to have muppets/puppets (whatever) can’t we get a Farscape reboot instead.
