Actor Bruce Willis is singing the praises of his upcoming movie, Looper.
The film focuses on the criminal use of time-travel technology to send targets back to the past where they’re taken out by assassins called Loopers. These murderers live an extravagant lifestyle with the understanding that one day they’ll be sent back through time and killed themselves, in order to close the loop. Looper Joseph Gordon Leviitt”s day is up when his future self is sent back in time and manages to escape his grasp. Willis plays the older version of Levitt”s character and recently told Esquire that the film is “better than anything [he’s] ever done.”
“Rian did an amazing thing. He conceived an original story. He wrote it, sold it, stuck with it, directed it, and finished it,” Willis said. “That’s just tough to do in this town. Someone always weasels into the process. That didn’t happen here. And if he never did anything else except that Herculean effort, he’d have made it in the business. Amazing.
“It’s more than an original story. It’s a story people are going to talk about, and see twice. And argue about. I was arguing with myself about the story when I read it the first time. That’s all Rian Johnson, beginning to end. Great, great director.”
Looper hits theaters in September.

Time Cop meets Minority Report
Summer Brooks says
I liked Time Cop more than Minority Report, actually, and I also liked Bruce in Surrogates.
This one just jumped up a little higher on my to-see list.
Samuel Sloan says
Finally, an original script that may be vaguely familiar but can stand on its own merit. Breath of fresh air.

Difference with this and Timecop is that this one goes back to change time and Timecop went to protect time.
