If you were looking forward to G.I. Joe: Retaliation, we’ve got some bad news. You’re going to have to wait a bit longer to see it.
Paramount has pushed back the film’s opening from June 29 to March of next year.
Why you ask?
So that it can be converted to 3-D, of course!
“We’re going to do a conscientious 3D job because we’ve seen how it can [do] better box office internationally,” a studio exec told Deadline.com. “Jim Cameron did all of Titanic’s 3D in post – and look how well that movie turned out.”
Universal Studios has jumped onto the opening in the summer movie calendar and announced that Seth McFarlane’s Ted will open that day.

I haven’t been to a 3D version of a movie in awhile. Theaters already had the big displays out for GIJoe. I was actually looking forward to seeing this one. I was hoping that Willis was going to bring back the Joe I remembered as a kid, before the Rainbow Brigade of the 80’s. You know. The one that kicked Ken’s butt and showed Barbie a good time………
