“Catching Fire” Director Chosen

Lionsgate has found its director for the next Hunger Games installment, Catching Fire. 

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Francis Lawrence has been offered the directing reigns after Gary Ross stepped away from the project.

Lawrence has directed several other genre films before including I Am Legend.

Several other high profile directors were in the running, but it’s reported that Lawrence was the pick due to his schedule.  He was available to keep the sequel on schedule.
