Dexter star Jennifer Carpenter says that she thinks eight seasons is enough for her.
Despite assurances from Showtime president David Nevins that the serial killer series could go beyond its current seventh and eighth seasons, Carpenter says she thinks once her current contract expires she’ll move on.
“You never know, but my hope is that people are like, ‘God, I wish Dexter was still on’ or ‘God, I wish it had gone on for one more year’.”
The actress added that Dexter – which stars Michael C Hall as the eponymous killer – has been a “game-changing” series.
“I just don’t think that we want to overstay our welcome,” she explained.
Hall previously hinted that his character could meet a dark fate in the Dexter series finale.

And it must be hard having to star on your ex-husband’s show…
i will miss Deb if Dexter continuous without her, but i will keep watching
