Writing duo Matthew Federman and Stephen Scaia are in final negotiations with New Line Studios to pen a script for the big-screen version of Y: The Last Man.
Based on the best-selling comic series by Brian K. Vaughn, centers on Yorick, an escape artist who is the last survivor of a mysterious plague that has killed every male mammal in the world. With his pet monkey, he sets out to find what might have wiped out the world’s male chromosomes.
The project has been long in development at New Line.
There was a previous script for the project but reports are that Federman and Scaia will start from scratch on a new one.
