After a successful pilot episode, Dirk Gently is coming to television.
The BBC commissioned a backdoor pilot episode for a series based on the popular Douglas Adams novels that aired last year. Now comes news that a series based on Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency and The Long Dark Tea Time of the Soul are headed to BBC4.
The new three-part series stars Stephen Mangan (Episodes) as Dirk, joined by Darren Boyd, Helen Baxendale, Jason Watkins (Being Human) and Lisa Jackson.
The series debuts March 5 on BBC4.
No word yet on if or when the series will jump the pond stateside.

Eeehhhh it was okay. But it’s Yet Another Police Procedural With A Quirky Protagonist. Thank goodness because we might have run out of those otherwise.
