Actor Billy Connolly is headed for Middle Earth.
Connolly has been cast in the upcoming Peter Jackson adaptation of The Hobbit. He will play Dain Ironfoot. In the story, Dain is a great dwarf warrior who happens to be the cousin of Thorin Oakenshield.
“We could not think of a more fitting actor to play Dain Ironfoot, the staunchest and toughest of Dwarves, than Billy Connelly, the Big Yin himself. With Billy stepping into this role, the cast of The Hobbit is now complete. We can’t wait to see him on the Battlefield!” said Jackson.
No word yet on if Connolly will appear in both parts of The Hobbit.
Ok, I’m already excited to see this movie. Jackson really doesn’t need Connolly to make it awesome. It’s already going to be awesome. This is just going to make it MORE awesome. He had me at Benedict Cumberbatch, Figwit, and The Doctor.
