Joss Whedon took to Twitter yesterday to talk about the highly anticipated blockbuster, The Avengers.
Whedon fielded questions from fans about the movie and his role in writing and directing it.
When asked how much he’d read of the Avengers canon before sitting down to write a script, Whedon replied, ” I had already read them all” and added that his script has influences in the classic comic book, the Ultimate line plus a little ‘Richie Rich’ & “Mastering the Art of French Cooking’.”
However, Whedon says that as much of a fan as he was, he wasn’t able to do everything he’d hoped when it came to the script. Whedon said that he regrets having to leave the Wasp out of the script.
Whedon was joined in the chat by actors Samuel L. Jackson, Tom Hiddleston and Clark Gregg.
Jackson said the hardest part of playing Nick Fury “was losing the weight to fit my costume and keep it off.”
Gregg says fans can expect to a different side of Agent Coulson in the film. “Very diff dynamic in [Iron Man],Thor and Avengers. Diff heroes, more layers to Coulson’s world/powers revealed,” he tweeted.
He added that Coulson will also be part of the action in the film and joked that even the audience would have to fight the bad guys in the movie.
