Abrams, Kripke Team Up For NBC Pilot

February 3, 2012 By Mike Hickerson 4 Comments

J.J. Abrams and Eric Kripke have teamed up for a new pilot for NBC. Called Revolution, the project is described as a dramatic thriller.

Described as an epic adventure thriller, the Warner Bros. Television project follows a group of characters struggling to survive and reunite with loved ones in a world where all forms of energy have mysteriously ceased to exist.

Kripke will pen the script with Abrams and Bryan Burk(Fringe) on board to exec produce via their Bad Robot shingle.

“follows a group of characters struggling to survive and reunite with loved ones in a world where all forms of energy have mysteriously ceased to exist”

Gee, sounds a lot like Dies the Fire by S. M. Stirling. “Dies the Fire chronicles the struggle of two groups who try to survive “The Change,” a sudden worldwide event that alters physical laws so that electricity, gunpowder, and most other forms of high-energy-density technology no longer work.”

Stay tuned for the inevitable law suit!

“all forms of energy have mysteriously ceased to exist.” ?? Including kinetic energy? windmills? water driven turbines? solar energy (solar ovens .. cooking food with the heat from the sun)?, FIRE???

I was thinking the same thing not me. I’m a big fan of the Emberverse series by Stirling so.. yeah. I highly doubt it will be gritty and full of blood, like the books, since it’s NBC.
