NBC has decided it won’t call use the title The Munsters for the upcoming reboot of the 60’s comedy.
Instead, the network will call the show Mockingbird Lane, referring to the address of 1313 Mockingbird Lane where the family lives. Other than that, it still appears the reboot will follow the family of the Munsters, only this time the series won’t be played as broadly as the original.
Mockingbird Lane is the creation of two Bryans: Bryan Fuller of Pushing Daises fame and Bryan Singer, producer and director of X-Men. The pilot is currently in the casting stage, but so far no actors are attached.

I hope that helps. If you try to remake a classic too hard you’re just going to mess it up. If you give yourself some freedom in how things are, then you have a better chance. Look at ST TOS with ST TNG first season. TNG had “naked now” which was one of the WORST of the season. Part of the reason was that they tried too hard to copy the TOS episode (among other things).
So they are remaking The Munsters now? It has been shown that TV show Remakes usually fail, so how about using just a tiny bit more creativity and try crossover remakes that would combine two or more old shows?
