Seeking to regain some of its former glory, MySpace has unveiled a new application for televisions called MySpaceTV.
The new service, available at first with new Panasonic connected TVs in the second half of the year, encourages friends to comment on TV shows within the TV, instead of on tablets and smartphones. You could also use the app to recommend shows to friends.
Announcing the deal: new MySpace co-owner, and pop and movie star Justin Timberlake. “We’re ready to take TV to the next step,” he said. “Why text or e-mail your friends to talk about your favorite show after they’ve aired, when you can do it while the show unfolds?” he said.
