Remember the Tim Burton reboot of Planet of the Apes? It wasn’t a fantastic reboot to say the least.
And now actor Mark Wahlberg is owning up to the fact that the new version of Apes kind of sucked and he knows who’s responsible–the studio.
When asked about Rise of the Apes, Wahlberg admitted he hadn’t seen it yet but ” I heard it was pretty damn good.”
“Well, ours wasn’t. It is what it is. Ours wasn’t,” he adds. ” They didn’t have the script right. [Fox] had a release date before [Tim Burton] had shot a foot of film. They were pushing him and pushing him in the wrong direction. You have got to let Tim do his thing.”

I didn’t think it was that bad. It was a little different than Tim Burton’s usual fare, but it didn’t really seem like all that bad of a movie to me.

Me neither. I thought it was enjoyable. They were rebooting ‘Planet of the Apes’ it was supposed to be a big budget popcorn film. I thin Mark W is being hard on the film.
