As Terra Nova comes to a close tonight, you may be wondering if we’ll get a second season.
Last week, Fox said they wouldn’t make a decision on the show until after the first of the year.
But that doesn’t mean producers Brannon Braga and Rene Echevara are ready to throw in the towel. The producers tell the Hollywood Reporter they are feeling optimistic about the series chances for a sophomore season.
“We’re guardedly optimistic,” Echevarria tells the The Hollywood Reporter. “We’re hoping for good news any day. There are a lot of factors in play and a lot of things for the network to consider. We know we have a lot of people there who like the show and we have a core audience that seems to like what we’re doing.”
Part of the decision on whether to renew is the price tag for the show. However, the two say they aren’t considering moving the show from its filming location in Australia.
“That’s not part of the conversation right now. You hear a lot of, ‘It’s a really expensive show.’ It’s not an inexpensive show but it’s not most expensive show on television by a long shot,” said Echevarria.

I like the concept and most of the cast, but the fault with this show is the producers and writers. The plots are weak and repetitive – wasting the acting talents. The producers and writers are dumbing the show down – showing no respect for viewers. They need to either write for kids or adults – not both. Perhaps FOX should can the Producers and writing staff and make the show interesting.
For some odd reason Terra Nova plays just like ST:Voyager. Maybe that’s because it uses the same ‘creatively challenged’ producers! They need to use the same organic, gritty methods used to create Battlestar Galactica. And stop it with the ‘Quincy Effect’!
For some odd reason, I like this show. It’s not perfect and has serious issues, but… I STILL like it.
