HBO Wants More “Thrones”

HBO Wants More “Thrones”

December 1, 2011 By Mike Hickerson 1 Comment

Season two of Game of Thrones won’t air until early next year, but there are already rumblings that HBO wants more of the hit series.

MTV reports the cable outlet is considering a move to renew the series for a third and fourth season in the coming days.  The seasons would be filmed back-to-back though they wouldn’t begin airing until 2013.

Season two will reportedly cover the events of A Clash of Kings and seasons three and four would adapt A Storm of Swords.  Nothing official yet, but we’ll keep our ears and eyes peeled for updates.

Meanwhile, we have good news for those of you who were waiting for DVD or Blu-Ray to catch up on season one.   Entertainment Weekly reports season one hits stores on March 6, 2012.

In addition to the first ten episodes of the series, the DVD and Blu-Ray sets will include the following extras:

Complete Guide to Westeros
“An interactive compendium of the noble houses and lands featured in season one.”

Making Game of Thrones
“An exclusive 30-minute feature including never-before-seen footage from the set and interviews from the cast and crew.”

Audio Commentaries
“Seven audio commentaries with Cast and Crew including David Benioff, D.B. Weiss, George R.R. Martin, Emilia Clarke, Peter Dinklage, Kit Harington, and more.”

The Blu-Ray set will include some other bonus features for fans.

It would be a great show of confidence in the and we wouldn’t have to wait until season 3 to know if we’ll get to see a 4th season.
