You may want to keep an eye on the sky this Friday. NASA says there is a chance a defunct satellite could enter the planet’s atmosphere and potentially hit someone.
The Upper Atmosphere Research Satellite, known as UARS, ceased operations in 2005 and has been orbiting “space junk” ever since. But an increase in solar activity this week will make the satellite break into 26 pieces and send those pieces hurtling back toward our planet.
The chances of it hurting someone anywhere on the planet are 1 in 3,200.
The pieces of the dead satellite can land anywhere in the six inhabited continents in a worldwide swath from south of Juneau, Alaska, to just north of the tip of South America.

Guess i won’t be going outside on Friday. HAH!
THE SKY IS FALLLING!!!!!
Not just Friday . . . because of uncertainty with the trajectory, it could be as early as Thursday or as late as Saturday.
By the way, the thing weighs in at 6 tons – – 12,000 pounds – – – 192,000 ounces.
26 pieces ==>> 462 pounds each
