Stephen King’s best-selling novel Under the Dome could be coming to Showtime.
Deadline reports the cable outlet is in conversations to produce a series based on the novel.
Under The Dome focuses on the people living in a vacation destination in Maine. The community is suddenly isolated when a mysterious force field surrounds the town.
The Showtime drama is being developed with Steven Spielberg, while King is expected to executive produce.
Another of King’s novels, Bag of Bones, is currently being adapted into a miniseries for A&E. It will star Pierce Brosnan, Annabeth Gish and Melissa George.

That’s a pretty horribly violent novel in parts, would be quite an effort to convert that 1000 page book but would be interested in watching.
It would be a fantastic movie if the characters are as clearly developed in the film as well as they were in the book. It was a great read and a wonderful story. The ending was a little over the top but the book as a whole was excellent.
I liked it better when it was published as Darkness on the Edge of Town by Brian Keene.
Dome came before Darkness and the idea came to King in the 70s when he was writing The Cannibals.
