“Captain America 2” Writer Wants Dinklage

“Captain America 2” Writer Wants Dinklage

August 30, 2011 By Mike Hickerson 3 Comments

Writer Christopher Markus says that when Captain America returns to the silver screen for his second solo adventure, he has an adversary in mind and the perfect actor to play that adversary.

Markus says he’d like to see another World War II era villain square off against Captain America–the cosmic cube mutated foe MODOK.

And Markus says he’s talking to studio executives about casting Peter Dinklage as MODOK.

“I love MODOK and I think you could make a terrifying movie with MODOK but nobody seems to be on my side at the moment,” he says.  “I will win you over to Peter Dinklage as MODOK. If he came around the corner and you saw him floating there you would be terrified. It would be amazing.”

Seriously. MODOk. The guy makes the Basie in green lantern, the one with the huge forhead, lock like a character from
Citizen Kane! Ugh! Please not another tepid Cap movie

I’m sorry… Dinklage could pull this off and be an awesome super-villan. Take a look at him in Underdog. He was the ONLY good thing in that movie.
    I’m seeing it.

I can definitely see Dinklage playing a villain like this. MODOK is basically a genetically engineered guy with a big head and a tiny body. My concern would be that he’d turn out to be a CGI monstrosity, so of the reverse of what they did to Chris Evans to make him look puny. This might cause us to lose the nuances of Dinklage performance.
