“Man of Steel” Costume Follows DC Reboot Look

August 25, 2011 By Mike Hickerson 4 Comments

The color of Lois Lane’s hair isn’t the only thing changing for The Man of Steel.

Last week, a still of Henry Cavill in the new Superman outfit was released.   And a certain area of the suit was cast in shadows.

Now we may know why.

New stills reveal that the Man of Steel look will follow the look of the upcoming DC reboot costume.  Specifically, Superman will no longer have the red underpants that have been part of the costume for decades.

At least he’ll still have the cape….

I don’t mind losing the underpants, but the rest of the suit looks like shiny latex! Superman isn’t into S&M…at least not that I’m aware of.

I’d much rather see him in black with a silver S shield & a long coat than in freaking latex!

From what I’ve read, Superman’s new outfit in the comics is supposed to be some kind of Kryptonian Armor.

I haven’t seen anything about what it is composed of, though.

lol S&M well they do seem to be wanting to change everything we’ve come to know and love about Superman (and Spiderman etc). Who knows what he’s into these days…maybe he’s no longer a boy scout. As for the costume…I was unimpressed…didn’t look like an improvement at all…just some people trying to establish that their version of Superman was different…just looked ‘meh’ to me.
