There’s a bit more hope for the proposed Blade Runner follow-up. According to Deadline, Ridley Scott has signed on to direct and produce the coming the film.
He’ll direct the project after he finishes work on Prometheus.
No word yet on if the new movie will be a prequel, sequel or (heaven forbid) a reboot. At this time, there’s not even a script for the project.

I’m pretty sure the “reboot” word has just been used by people who only skimmed the original article. All I got from it was he was revisiting the universe. Which I think is cool. He is doing something similar with Prometheus. That’s something I am used to enjoying in books but not so much in movie form. If the ‘verse is still big enough for it why not do new stories in it?
