Alphas is getting ready for some big name guest stars in the next several weeks. Included among them are Brent Spiner, Garrett Dillahunt and Lindsey Wagner.

Syfy’s new hit series Alphas will feature an impressive lineup of special guest stars for its debut season. Garret Dillahunt (Raising Hope), Summer Glau (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles), Alaina Huffman (Stargate Universe), Rebecca Mader (Lost), Brent Spiner (Star Trek: The Next Generation), Lindsay Wagner (The Bionic Woman) and Peter Wingfield (Caprica) will join previously announced recurring guest star Valerie Cruz.
Alphas, airing Monday nights at 10PM ET/PT on Syfy, follows a clandestine group of ordinary people whose unique neurological condition equips them with extraordinary physical abilities. Operating within the U.S. Department of Defense, the Alphas team is led by preeminent neurologist and psychiatrist Dr. Lee Rosen (Emmy Award-winner and Academy Award-nominee David Strathairn (Temple Grandin, Good Night, and Good Luck). The ensemble cast also stars Malik Yoba (New York Undercover, Why Did I Get Married?), Warren Christie (October Road), Azita Ghanizada (Castle), Ryan Cartwright (Mad Men, Bones) and Laura Mennell (Watchmen).

I think that tying Alphas to Warehouse 13 (and Eureka) is a poor choice. The tone of the shows is different. W13 and E are fun, light-hearted, where Alphas looks to be grittier. At least, I hope it is.
Nope, still won’t get me to watch that snoozefest again.
I love Alphas… good show. I like the characters and tone of the show. A solid summer series.
I find that Alphas is definitely growing on me, but I have to take pause with the notion that Lindsay Wagner is bringing her Warehouse 13 character to Alphas. To say they reside in the same “universe” is quite peculiar… I’ll be curious to see how this plays out!
