Summit Tracks Down “Breaking Dawn” Leak

Summit Tracks Down “Breaking Dawn” Leak

August 2, 2011 By Mike Hickerson 4 Comments

Remember all those photos from the set of Twilight: Breaking Dawn that were leaked on-line? Summit has tracked down the culprit behind it and will file  charges against him.

According to Deadline, Summit alleges that Daiana Santia and others stole photographs, unfinished images and video from both parts of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn.  The globe-spanning search for the leak led Summit and its lawyers to the town of Posadas in northern Argentina.

“While we very much appreciate the legions of committed fans of the franchise and encourage them to create community online, we cannot ignore that property was stolen. … It is not fair to the majority of fans that want to see the final chapter of the Twilight Saga film franchise fully realized by the filmmaker and dedicated cast and crew to have these images out and available on the Internet,” says David C. Friedman, executive vice president and general counsel, Summit Entertainment.

At the time the photos and other material leaked, Summit issued a statement asking fans of the Twilight saga to pass on viewing the material and instead wait for the movies’ final release.  And, for the most part, fans honored that request.

Really? They will “span the globe” looking for someone who took pictures, but when it comes to the material they make, they can’t go past in the bargain bin?

    Whatever.

“It’s not fair to the fans…” REALLY? They want to try to put THAT spin on their actions? Anyone that believes this is about being fair to fans and NOT about the almighty dollar is as complete idiot. I’ll never watch this, but I can’t see how their fans wouldn’t feel like their intelligence had been insulted by their “reasoning”.

This isn’t that different from the Wolverine script that was leaked online a while ago that put a monkey wrench in things

*rolls eyes* Please, do they really think the tweens won’t go see the film because someone posted some pictures? This will make them want to go see it more. Which makes me believe they probably just “leaked” the photos themselves.
