Anne Rice’s best-selling Interview with the Vampire will be adapted as a graphic novel.
Yen Press will publish the adaptation as a single-volume story in the fall of 2011.
Rice has said she is “intrigued” by the publisher’s plan to retell the story from the perspective of the child vampire Claudia.
“I have gone all through The Vampire Chronicles writing from the point of view of different characters, so it is completely legitimate to do that,” she told Publishers Weekly.
“I am looking at the drawings, they have such wonderful detail in the costumes, and in my work costumes are almost like a character. They are part of the work, and they got that.”
Rice continued: “What I look for in a movie or a book like this is the essence – baroque detail, sensuality, luxurious hair, faces that are intriguing and deep – and they got it here.”

I remember there was a gn book back in the 90’s, blue-ish cover with a street lamp on the left with a high angle looking down at Lestat. Correct me if I’m wrong but how is this going to be different; a variant cover???
