Pine Rumored for “Robocop” Reboot

Pine Rumored for “Robocop” Reboot

July 13, 2011 By Michael Hickerson 2 Comments

Actor Chris Pine’s dance card just keeps filling up.

And the latest rumor is that the actor who played Captain Kirk in the 2009 Star Trek could step into the robotic boots of Peter Weller for the Robocop reboot.

MGM reportedly has Pine at the top of their casting list.  Whether or not Pine is interested or will take the role isn’t yet known.

    He wouldn’t be my pick.

The only thing that bothers me about this is, when he played the part, wasn’t Weller a bit older than Pine is now?
Murphy was a *veteran* cop, wasn’t he?
I wouldn’t be angry if they picked Pine…but I’d rather see the part played by someone a little older.
Actually, I really wouldn’t mind seeing that part cast…um…”out of the box”…if you know what I mean.
And I think you just might.
