On a recent edition of Slice of SciFi, we told you that CBS’s The Big Bang Theory would be focusing less on its romantic entanglements next year and more on telling some “good geeky stories.”
But don’t expect character development to go by the wayside next year. Producer Bill Prady recently talked about the storyline that the series will follow for Penny next season.
“”Her career’s going nowhere, and the one thing she had going for her – her group of friends – she [sabotaged] by sleeping with Raj,” he tells TV Line. “”For the first time, she had [male] friends who treated her like a [real] person, and not the way she’s been treated in the past by men. And she just [undermined] that.”
Prady admitted that he finds it enjoyable seeing characters mess up and then try to redeem themselves, adding: “That’s a fun journey for her. Sometimes it’s really fun to have your characters screw things up big-time and see how they get out of it.”
