Pixar’s winning streak continued over the weekend. Each of their films has debuted at number one at the box-office and Cars 2 proved to be no exception to the rule.
The animated sequel took in $68 million over the weekend, more than enough to take first place. It wasn’t even a photo finish for the top spot.
In second was Bad Teacher with $31 million in its opening weekend
Green Lantern was third with $18.4 million, down a steep 65% in its second week, followed by Super 8 with $12.1 million. Mr. Popper’s Penguins rounded out the top five with $10.3 million.
Ben Ragunton says
I definitely helped to put Cars 2 at the top of the heap by catching it on Friday night.
Good movie and I’ll gladly see it again!!!
