I’ve watched the entire series and it was just starting to get interesting when the season ended. It is a very slow build up over the 8 episodes and ends with lots of questions and no answers. Unfortunately the series has been canceled by the BBC, so it looks like those questions will remain unanswered.

bummer to know it was cancelled. That made me stop watching Survivors why watch when the story doesn’t end right. Interesting premise, thought they set the tone pretty well for a first episode.
Mitch from Omaha says
Crap, I missed it? Hope they re-air the pilot.

According to my BBCA listings, you may be SOL. What I see for next week is the second episode at 6pm PT, with a repeat airing at 9pm PT and again at 12am Sunday PT.
So each episode airs three times, just all in one bunch on the weekend.

If a show doesn’t grab me in the first episode it isn’t going to keep me and “Outcasts” failed to even shake my hand, much less grab me. Metaphors side, knowing that BBC canceled it after one season contributed to my ambivalence. It’s like they’re dumping their discards on us.
That said, it’s a great premise, just not an exciting presentation.
And who does Jamie Bamber have dirt on that he keeps getting roles in these shows? He’s a good enough actor and all but is he REALLY the top choice for all this?

Found the first episode brilliant but I was getting in on inconsistent alternative means several months ago and only saw the first three episodes. It was good solid sci-fi. I had heard it was cancelled. I didn’t know BBC cancelled shows like the US does.

The BBC is usually a lot more forgiving as they are funded by a licence fee here in the UK, rather than advertising. If I remember correctly Outcasts was on BBC1 their main channel, but it was perhaps a bit too niche and would have been more suited to BBC2. I know the BBC has had its funding cut, so perhaps they have to be a bit more ruthless.
I enjoyed the show, as I feel there isn’t enough quality sci fi made in the UK, but I feel it wasn’t outstanding. They do sometimes bring shows back from the dead, so it is possible it could come back in the future.

I saw every episode and have to say that this by far was the best dramatic sci-fi series I have seen. I was very disapointed in hearing that it was cancelled seen as it left me waiting and wanting more. I hope they bring it back. I’ll be waiting………………

I liked it in the context of it being The Fleur Show. She was the one most connected with what had been happening there. If they had trimmed the show down to 2-3 core storylines and really focused on them it would have been so much better than the fluff with Cass’s emo, the DJ’s math emo, or the missing emo daughter… cut 70% of the emo and it would have been much tighter.

Clearly this is not a great scifi. These people know nothing of tech and the things it takes to get to another planet. I looked all over these epidodes and there were no satelites in orbit. To provide communications for the residents. I never saw any air or land crafts. Where did they go? Although there is a high tech control room. It doesn’t seem to do anything. They weren’t blasted back to the beginning of the 20th century. this series needs major revamping.
