The pilot for Powers will begin filming in the next several weeks says creator Brian Michael Bendis.
Based on the comic book of the same name, Powers follows homicide detectives Christian Walker and Deena Pilgrim as they investigate crimes committed by super-powered criminals.
The rights to the series have been owned by cable outlet FX for a while now, but the network gave a green light to the pilot in February.
We can also tell you that the pilot has added a new cast member. Actress Bailee Madison has signed to play the role of Calista, a young girl raised by a super-powered man named Eagle.
When Eagle disappears following his wife’s murder, Calista will be taken in by a concerned Walker.
And while we don’t yet know who will play the lead roles, it’s been reported that Kyle Chandler and Charles S. Dutton could be on the short list for the pilot.
