Earth is no longer a habitable planet. Led by President Tate (Liam Cunningham), a group of pioneers, reminiscent of the old West travel to another planet called Carpathia to start life anew.
They create the town of Forthaven. Known as the Outcasts, this crew of brave souls are passionate about their jobs, confident of their ideals and optimistic about the future. They work hard to preserve what they’ve built on this planet they now call home, convinced that they all deserve this second chance to build “the good life”.
The biggest obstacles faced by these modern day explorers isn’t the new lifeforms they encounter, the strange new world they inhabit or the unknown, although these prove quite intense; their biggest obstacle are the seeds of their own darker natures. Can they begin new lives while trying to escape those dire human weakness of greed, lust and envy that caused original Earth to be destroyed? Or, can the positive aspects of humanity; love, compassion, peace, loyalty and patience, win the day?
Cunningham headlines an all-star cast that includes “Battlestar Galactica” alum Jamie Bamber, Hermione Norris (MI-5, Kingdom), Eric Mabius (Resident Evil, Ugly Betty), Daniel Mays (Doctor Who, Ashes to Ashes), Amy Manson (Being Human, Torchwood), Ashley Walters (Bedlam, Five Days) and Michael Leggae (Shameless).
Outcasts premieres Saturday, June 18th at 9/8c on BBC America.

I’ve seen the first episode and I really enjoyed it. It’s a good drama and good science fiction.
I downloaded the whole series online this spring and LOVED it. It was like ‘Earth 2’ meets ‘Space: Above and Beyond’… but in a GOOD way (although I loved S:AAB). I told my wife that I’m DVR’ing it for her so that she can watch it. She’s a huge BSG fan, thus I told her that she’ll like the story for that reason alone.
I wouldn’t bother, there’s no resolution in the first series. and it’s been cancelled…
Shame.
