“X-Men: First Class” — A Hollywood Reporter Review

“X-Men: First Class” — A Hollywood Reporter Review

May 31, 2011 By News Droid 5 Comments

The Hollywood Reporter has weighed in with a review of this weekend’s X-Men: First Class.

Based on the buzz, it sounds like this one could be worth seeing.

Here’s an excerpt from the review:

Much as Casino Royale rebooted the James Bond franchise in a fresh and dynamic way, X-Men: First Class injects new blood into a franchise that, for all its profitability, had become blandly anemic. In fact, roughly the first half of this massive and very well cast origins extravaganza is arguably the best hour of Marvel Comics-derived filmmaking among the torrent of it that’s cascaded across screens in recent years. Audacious, confident and fueled by youthful energy, this is a surefire summer winner for a wide global audience.

I loved the first two movies, and was so disappointed in the third that I’d wondered how long it would be beofre they tried X-Men again.

I’ve been excited by the trailers for this one for a couple months now, and I’m seeing it later this afternoon.

Matthew Vaughn’s movies are gold, I was never expecting this one to be any different.

My schedule hasn’t permitted me the luxury of seeing it, but I definitely plan on catching it this coming week!!!

The first one was good the second was forgettable and the third? There was a third movie?
Anyway I really liked X-Men FC and I hope the sequels hold to the promise of this strong start.
