Release Date Set for “Titanic 3-D”

Release Date Set for “Titanic 3-D”

May 19, 2011 By Mike Hickerson 8 Comments

Ready to board the Titanic again, this time in 3-D?

We’ve known for months now that James Cameron is working on a 3-D version of his Oscar winning epic.  What we didn’t know was when it would hit theaters.

We can tell you now that it will be April 6, 2012 and that it will be a world-wide release.

The date was chosen to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the ship setting sail (April 10).

The 3D conversion is being overseen by Cameron — who wrote, directed and produced the movie — and his Lightstorm producing partner Jon Landau, who also produced.

“There’s a whole generation that’s never seen Titanic as it was meant to be seen, on the big screen,” Cameron said. “And this will be Titanic as you’ve never seen it before, digitally remastered at 4K and painstakingly converted to 3D. With the emotional power intact and the images more powerful than ever, this will be an epic experience for fans and newcomers alike.”

I humbly request to Skynet that they please make judgement day April 5, 2012.

It won’t matter. According to that cult nutjob, the world will end this Saturday at 6 pm … on a rolling system through each timezone. So we won’t have to even think about Cameron screwing up more movies.

It’s not the end of the world on Sunday, just the rapture. A third of the world’s population is supposed to disappear (according to said nutjob). Cameron still has until October to continue screwing up movies unless he’s one of the chosen.

Could be worse-Cameron could attempt to resurrect Smell-O-Vision. The only part about sex-in-the-car smell I don’t care for is when it’s my car, but I haven’t been the one having sex in it.

    I’ll pass on 3-D “Titanic”.
Leonardo DiCaprio has manned up quite nicely and is a very watchable actor now. I’ve already forgiven him for this movie.
I don’t want to see the movie that made me not only hate him, but hate myself for sitting through all of it without throwing my drink at the screen.

Well if anyone can pull it off Mr. Cameron can. But do we want to see it?

For those Supernatural fans out there:
I wonder how Balthazar will turn the universe upside this time on account of this 3D extravaganza?
