The new CGI, live action blend movie Hop hopped down the bunny trail to take the top spot at the box-office this weekend. According to initial estimates, the movie took in $38.1 million in its opening weekend.
That was twice as much as the second place finisher, Source Code. The new film from Moon director Duncan Jones took in $15 million.
Third place also went to a new movie. Insidious took in $13.4 million for its opening weekend.
Last week’s top money maker fell off to fourth this week. Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules dropped 57%, taking in just over $10 million in ticket sales.
The top five was rounded out by Limitless.
