New “Daredevil” Will Have ‘No Relation’ To Original

March 22, 2011 By Mike Hickerson 3 Comments

On last week’s Slice of SciFi, we told you that a new version of Daredevil is moving forward.

Over the weekend, director David Slade twittered that the new project will have “no relation” to the 2003 version with Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner.

“”It will [bear] no relation to the previous Daredevil movie in any way. We are at early planning stages and have not yet discussed any cast,” he wrote. “”So without breaking confidentiality, yes Daredevil, we have a great outline for a very strong character driven take on Mr Matt Murdock.”

So, could this be a reboot that isn’t technically a reboot? Time will tell.

I still think the first Daredevil was a great movie. The Affleck haters are what tore it down. Get mad at me if you want, but it was a pretty good flick.

The director’s cut on DVD is the better movie. If they’d released that into theaters, they likely have had a moderately successful box office return, and there might have even have been a sequel long before now.

The theatrical release was great popcorn fun
The director’s cut is nigh unto awesome.
and the Soundtrack… The first soundtrack that had me buying the movie soundtrack, as well as band albums.
