Neo Returns!
That is, according to Keanu Reeves, the Wachowski brothers, Larry and Andrew have plans to bring Neo and some of the familiar Matrix crew back to the big screen.
Keanu made this revelation recently in the United Kingdom during a film promotional for his new movie “Henry’s Crime”. Reeves told IGN that the bros. have at least two more films in mind for the franchise. They are supposedly in discussions with “Avatar” creator James Cameron to borrow some of his 3D technology for the sequels.
editor’s note: this was exposed as a hoax late Monday afternoon. Keanu Reeves wasn’t even in the UK over the weekend.

If they continue to get worse each time, as they have done so far, Matrix 5 will be the worst film of all time.
Mich67 says
Totally agree with Tom.
Mouldy Squid says
Just when I thought they couldn’t make a worse film than Speed Racer, the Wachowski brothers announce more Matrix sequels. What’s the matter? Your one trick pony isn’t making enough money for you anymore?
Summer Brooks says
Not to worry… this news is a hoax. I guess someone was trying to pull a fast one on AICN or something. The news was retracted by Playlist, and debunked by Screen Rant

Down side is, this might actually give them the idea to write those scripts now…

The upside is……wait there is no upside. ๐
Lejon from Chandler says
ThanK God it’s a hoax.
That is, unless they actually were going to remake Relarded and Revulsion. I’d be Ok with that. No Reboot Rage on that possibility for me.

I don’t give a damn what any of you haters says. This has the potential to make me reeeeaaaaly happy.
So there.

I never understood the Matrix 3 hate, that was the movie that made me a fan of the series. The first one was cool but got a little dull when they pulled out the guns in the end. The second had me a little bored with the first half but it got better and from the scene with the Architect on to the epic last third I was finally on board and now love the whole trilogy. I do think more movies would be a bad idea although there is probably more story to tell.
Jayson says
Skiznot, I’m with you on the the third film because it was my favorite. I’ve been racking my tiny mind for years and I can’t see what I would change to make it better. I think it wraps up the trilogy nicely. Now having written that, my hope is that a second trilogy would expand on what we have seen before.
Summer Brooks says
I don’t understand what’s to love about the third film. I don’t understand why the folks who love it don’t care that the mythology set up so achingly well in the first movie and was teased with a potentially juicy twist in the second movie, but was ignored, or rather violated nonsensically, in the third.
That ending was so unsatisfying and underwhelming, it seemed to be an afterthought after all the work they put into the special effects and action scenes.
That is one film I would love to give them a do-over on… I gave them the benefit of the doubt after the second movie, because what was teased held such an intriguing promise. But what was served up in the third movie was a merely pile of poo that someone tried to put Matrixy sprinkles on, and I raged and I cried.
Mouldy Squid says
Summer makes some very good points, but not only that there are just so many idiotic mistakes in the writing that just makes you wonder what they were smoking.
For example, if the Matrix and Zion “reset” and there are only 100 or so humans (I believe that they actually have that number very much lower) then how could there possibly be racial differences in the population? With a breeding pool that small, everyone would very quickly become phenotypically similar. And with such a small number of breeding couples, there would have to be some kind of intervention to supply sufficient genetic material to make a viable population.
It is sloppy writing and only barely resembles science fiction.
Skiznot says
Well my favorite part of the hole trilogy was that Neo wasn’t “the one” that “the one” was just something the architect created to adjust for the human need for rebellion. It was all a red herring but in creating that red herring the architect ended up imbuing the person playing that role with too much power this time that it ended infecting smith and screwing up the whole cycle. I was personally very tired of “the chosen one” type story lines and always wanted a story where all of that prophecy talk was just nonsense or a form of mind control.
Plus Revolutions was just visually sublime and the action had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. Smith taking over that guys body, all the great secondary characters, the heroism of all the supporting roles in the battle against the sentinels. The viceral final Smith v. Neo battle. Oh man, I’m all stoked to watch it again. Those are some of the things I loved about it. It actually made me appreciate the first two movies more. It’s time for a Matrixathon.
Skiznot says
The zion population was a mix of people born in zion plus all the people liberated from the matrix so the breeding population was getting new people from the matrix population.
