Producer Teases “The Event” Character Changes

January 20, 2011 By Mike Hickerson 6 Comments

Producer Evan Katz says that when “The Event” returns for the second half of its first season, we’ll see some changes in Sean, played by Jason Ritter.

“By the end of the season, he will be the opposite of the charmed innocent he was in the beginning,” claimed Katz.

He added that Sean, who is currently on the run with girlfriend Leila, will become involved in an “unlikely [new] romance”.

Katz also revealed that an important character will die in the sci-fi drama’s fifteenth episode, currently expected to air in March.

“In episode fifteen, someone goes bye-bye,” he confirmed.

Awesome news! At least they’ll be shaking the story up a bit.

Best way to improve Ritter’s character is to kill him off. I can’t stand him. I have come pretty close to writing this show off because of him.

I think Sean is the best character on the series. Shaking things up is good news though…keeps things fresh. I wonder if a new romance spells doom for Leila or if he just can’t handle the information he found out about her in the cliffhanger. Can’t wait to find out.

“Katz also revealed that an important character will die.”

    I hope it’s not a character I like.

Not worth the time to tune back in. Show is really the non event of last year and needs to go away.

Hope they don’t kill Leila. No more reason for me to watch the show.
