“V” Could Get Third Season

January 19, 2011 By Mike Hickerson 22 Comments

While the ratings for the season premiere of “V” weren’t nearly as solid as when the show debuted, they may still be solid enough to get the show a third season.  (Not that any of us will be able to watch it streaming either on ABC’s site or Hulu, mind you).

Producer Steve Pearlman says that the ratings were enough that he thinks a third season could happen.

“Despite what you read online, the ratings for V have been OK and the show has a chance of being renewed for a third season,” he posted on Facebook.

Many were skeptical about a third season when ABC pushed the show back into January to debut. And while the numbers haven’t been as huge as they were for the show’s debut, they have been slightly better than season finale last spring.

Still not really into it, but I do watch it. Although the ladies on it are delicious – if only the queen had hair!

I wish it would end this season. Finish the story lines and move on to new Scifi. The V would have been a great mini series, but it’s just drawn out too far for TV.

I am so glad to hear this. I couldnt find it on hulu or abc and was all a mess about it. I wound up finding it at megavideo and now Im all caught up. Last Tues episode was fantastic! I just hope that it continues on and on. The prob with this series is the intermittent showing of it. On and off…. doesnt work… people will lose interest if not “thrown in their face” all the time. I also noticed that the network is giving it more press now. And the fan following on FB and Twitter… sheer genius. Lets all keep our fingers crossed to see season three, IN SEPT….NOT IN JANUARY AGAIN. BE MORE AROUND AND PEOPLE WILL WATCH. ABC you are cutting your own throat by the way you are showing it. I understand that production takes a while but why is that other series get made and are shown in a timely manner??

I think this season of V is brilliant, it’s really stepped up on the intrigue, tension & action – such a great show, long may it continue!

I’m from Brazil and the show is well accepted here. I particulary would very much like the show to continue since I am a fan of the original series and also think this new version is much more vibrant and show things we could only imagine back in th 80’s.

they need to speed up the storyline to remain viable. Pretty much the population of earth hasn’t seen the true identity of the Vs.

I have been a fan since the 1st showing of V back in 1985. This far more entertaining and I am stuck to the TV every episode. I anticipated the 1st and 2nd season. but now that the season 2 is ending I am dying to see the 3rd. I want to know what happens and I hope the story keeps going. I am anticipating the 3rd season. Grat Job V crew 🙂

A third season would be great! The season 2 final left too many things open. I vote for full out post-apocalyptic war against the lizards.

I really enjoy the show, but they will need to be careful that it doesn’t drag on and that they really give it a defined ending maybe if they already figured what the ending was they could just work toward it. too many great SciFi Shows don’t get a full run, guess it just isn’t a big enough market. 🙁

I am watching this show in Kazakhstan, it is amazing, it really shows how actually our world is coquered by aliens(transdimensional beings), as it described in the book of Cathy OBrian “Tranceformation of America”. Series are simply Brilliant, hope the will continue it.

Love the show, the plot is way too slow and drawn out though, 2 seasons and still the 5th column are battling alone against the lizards.
Lets have some all out action with armies and fighter jets and maybe the odd nuke (like independence day)

I watch this show from UK and love it. I really feel it should continue. I have been a fan of this series as i was of the original one in 80’s. The only thing is that we have to wait so long for the seasons in between. But definately would love to see the third season. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK ……

I like this version of V though it is nowhere near as good as the original. The original had a better story it seems and better action. I do hope V will get a third season so they can wrap things up. The third season will probably be the last one.

This show NEEDS another season. The 2nd season got really good and was better than the first one, but it ended in a huge cliffhanger! For that it needs another season! Dollhouse was only 2 seasons, but it concluded everything. THIS CONCLUDED NOTHING! That’s not okay! x3

V is a captivating show. The series has a faster pace than LOST. While character development isn’t the same as LOST, “V” is more exciting to watch.

I love this show, everyone should give it a chance!

We want 10 seasons of V please!!!!!!

I really hope that there is a 3rd season of V. Even though there are a lot of people out there that are putting the show in a negative light, I have nothing but positive praise for this show. It most defiantly kept me wanting more. Please let there be a 3rd season of V.

V is one of the best shows I have ever watched! I watched the original ones from the 80s and they were brilliant. This was the only thing I watched on tv. Please bring back V, ABC, or at least give us one last season to draw a conclusion to this great show. I don’t believe the negative reviews, they just haven’t gave this show a chance.
