Here’s a story that will make our own Sam Roberts happy.
“Red” is getting a sequel.
Summit gave the greenlight for writers Erich and Jon Hoeber to pen a sequel.
A sequel is not greenlit at this stage, nor are there any deals with actors Bruce Willis, Helen Mirren and John Malkovich or director Robert Schwentke.
But Summit’s pulling the trigger for a second helping of over-the-hill special ops agents shoot-’em-up, scooped earlier Monday by Collider, was inevitable. The film made $90 million on its box-office run and was a solid money-earner for several weeks.
It hits DVD and Blu-Ray in early February

Not just Ms. Roberts . . . I too will be glad to see a sequel
. . . although I don’t want to see the scene with Boggs in a dress being pushed along in a wheelbarrow by Frank as some nondescript South American army is shooting at them being turned into a movie.
oh finally! re: DVD, that’ll be my birthday present then. And I’m very happy to hear they’re going for a sequel, I adored this movie.
Darn, I thought you were talking about the Red: Werewolf Hunter Syfy movie with Felicia Day.
