Now MGM’s financial house is in better order, the studio can finally begin targeting release dates for its franchises.
One of the biggest is the Bond franchise, which has been on hold for the past several years.
Now comes good news for 007 fans. The British Secret Service agent will be back on November 9, 2012. The twenty-third Bond film will begin production later this year in order to meet that target date.
Sam Mendes will direct the latest super-spy installment and Daniel Craig is expected to resume the role of Bond.
Several studios are courting MGM to release their movies, including Bond 23, with Sony and Paramount as the leading contenders. Paramount is looking to secure on overall output deal with the company.
