While the 3-D theatrical release of “Beauty and the Beast” may have been delayed in theaters, that doesn’t mean Disney doesn’t want you to have the chance to experience in 3-D at home.
Disney announced this week they will release 15 titles onto 3-D Blu-Ray.
Among them is the Oscar-nominated “Beast” as well as “The Lion King.”
Also joining them will be “Bolt”, “Meet the Robinsons”, “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas”, “G-Force” and “Chicken Little.”
Each 3-D Blu-Ray set will include a disc with the 3-D release and a disc with the 2-D version.
No word yet on when these films will begin hitting stores.
Lejon from Chandler says
In an utterly predictable move, I shall not be purchasing these rather humdrum Oscar award winning films.
You may feel differently if you have children.
Carry on.
Summer Brooks says
It’s really kinda strange. The only reason I’m considering buying a Blu-Ray player is because while I do need a new DVD player, I also want a device to stream Netflix on… two birds with one device.
I already own both of these movies on DVD, and on laserdisc. I do not see the need — EVER — to buy them on Blu-Ray or 3D Blu-Ray.
Seriously, Disney?
