“V” Will Unmask the Visitors This Season

January 4, 2011 By Mike Hickerson Leave a Comment

We’ve seen hints and glimpses of what the Visitors look like under their disguises on “V.” Now as season two gears up, fans can look forward to getting more hints and a full reveal of the aliens disguised as human.

The only bad news. You’ll have to wait until the season finale to see the full-on Visitor.

But series star Morena Baccarin says it will be worth the wait.

“”What I like about it is it doesn’t look like any particularly recognizable species. It’s like a conglomeration of all these different lizard types. It even looks prehistoric. There’s something like a T. rex about it, with a lizard mixed with a Komodo dragon,” she tells USA Today.

Producer Scott Rosenbaum says the long reveal is one necessitated by the story telling for the show. Rosenbaum says he wants to delve into the Visitors’ background a bit and set up audiences for when the big reveal happens.

“There is a reason the creature I ended up wanting to design looks familiar in many ways and unfamiliar in many ways,” Rosenbaum said. “Throughout the season, you’ll be seeing exactly what the Visitors look like underneath, and while some of it will be explained as to why they look the way they do … if you look close enough and study it, you can sort of figure out what the Visitors have been doing throughout the course of history in the universe. Answers to that are revealed literally in (their) physical nature.”

“V” returns tonight at 9 p.m. EST on ABC.
