Former “Walking Dead” writer Charles H. “Chic” Eglee is headed to FX. According to MTV News, Eglee is in conversations to write and produce the upcoming series, “Powers.”
The series is based on the comic books created by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming.
“Powers” focuses on homicide detectives Christian Walker and Deena Pilgrim, partners who work together to investigate cases related to people with superpowers. In addition to Eglee, “Journeyman” showrunner Kevin Falls is reportedly working on “Powers” as a writer.
Bendis confirmed the story on Twitter, saying: “OK, I rarely do this, but the Powers TV rumor that hit the net today… confirmed as fact!”
Eglee is a seasoned veteran on the television circuit, serving as an executive producer on “The Shield” and a showrunner on “Dexter” for two seasons. Other credits include “NYPD Blue,” “Murder One” and “Dark Angel.” Because of his work on “The Shield,” Eglee is already a very familiar quantity to network executives at FX.
