I’ll definitely keep watching. While it is by no means great, it does have a lot of potential.
Karrde says
I’ll leave it in the queue, and it’ll show up whenever. I never watch “live” TV anyway, so it’s not something I have to remember to show up for.
Justathought says
I have been burnt too often by the TV Networks to invest too much in a TV show with a strong continuing storyline. Flash Forward, Jericho, Surface, Invasion, Firefly, etc., were all killed in the middle of their major storylines, leaving fans hanging.
The Networks show no commitment to their show’s fan base. It is all about ratings and money. They will drop a show in the middle of a storyline with no compunction. While The Event is interesting, it could go the way of Flash Forward tomorrow, so I am not getting too invested.
The Networks need to commit to finishing a storyline in story-driven dramas or a growing cynicism will kill them.

I’ll definitely be back.
Even though they canceled “Undercovers”. I LOVED that show!
There were a group of us who were all into that couple because you NEVER EVER see a hot, kick-ass Black couple doing Operative stuff in exotic locals.
And hot.
And kick-ass.
Ah, I’m going to miss the Sexpionage.

I’m still on the fence with this show. It’s an interesting concept, but the plot and the characters have been so flat that I’m barely holding interest. I may or may not be back.
Ben Ragunton says
They lost me after the 3rd episode. I do not find the series very intelligent, nor does it move forward in a manner which both satisfies and lures me in week after week.

I definitely sympathize with your feelings, hell I’m still bitter about “Journeyman”. However, if we all felt that way we would have no genre shows. All we would have is crime drama procedurals, medical drama procedurals, half hour comedy procedurals, and reality shows.
Robin says
I lost interest pretty early on, and there are many more entertaining shows on Monday nights. Honestly, I only started watching for Innes, Underwood, and Paterson, but their storylines just haven’t grabbed me sufficiently to keep me going through all the mysterious machinations and one-twu-wuv business.

Good thing Buffy we got shows like The X-Files and Buffy back in the day when shows were allowed to DEVELOP.
These shows didn’t find their feet until the 3rd…THIRD, people…Season.
Nowadays? If your show isn’t a “hit” by the 2nd show…if the show doesn’t spring forth fully developed by the 3rd episode…then it’s dead as a doornail.
I’m still willing to give an interesting show a chance.
I’m also not expecting each and every episode to be the Best…Episode…EVER.
It was bad enough when Fox didn’t give “Firefly” a chance. It was bad enough when “Journeyman” was killed.
Now, so-called genre ‘fans’ have started to develop the same mindset as short-sighted network suits.
Pity, that.
KG from DC says
I’ve been enjoying it. It’s not the greatest show on Earth, but it’s fun… and that’s rare this season. Well, it was until HUMAN TARGET began it’s season! WHOO!
ejdalise says
@TallGrrl . . .
Firefly required less than one episode to hook me (something like 20 minutes). You can certainly blame the “suits” but I think history proved it was not the fans who let the show down.
While not the same situation as Firefly, many other offerings, both genre and non-genre, hooked me with the first episode. Farscape, SG-1, Human Target, Castle, Chuck, House, The Big Bang Theory, Lie to Me, Bones, Life (I miss that show), Dresden Files, Angel, The Sarah Connors Chronicles, and so on. Some live on, some had their lives snuffed out much too quickly. And some are in the process of dying a slow death (I won’t be a witness to it – I’ve already dropped those shows).
What I can’t list are shows that I “gave a chance to develop”. Be it 3, 5, or 6 episodes I eventually dropped them. I can’t list them because people will give me grief for it, and because I have zero interest in them once I drop them.
Be it the characters, or the story, or the pace, they did not click. The fact some of these shows six month letter have a good story arch is mainly a reward for those who liked the show to begin with, not an incentive for me to rethink my decision.
I simply don’t see it as my responsibility to stick with something which does not appeal for sake of supporting the genre, or in the off chance next season might be better.
At my advanced age, I just don’t have that kind of time to invest, especially when there is so much interesting content out there that I won’t possibly be able to watch all of it, listen to all of it, or read all of it.
You may call this mindset short-sighted, but try and give some credit . . . I’m not looking for the same thing all the time, but after nearly 60 years trust I can figure out fairly quickly what I will like and what does nothing for me. I’m enjoying that process right now looking into the vast Anime offerings, and venturing into graphic novels.
Side note: I screwed up with anime because one of the first series I watched was Claymore . . . and quickly found out that’s (IMHO) one of the very best. Kind of makes it hard to invest in other stuff . . . a problem similar to looking for a new SciFi show to watch after having watched Firefly .
kurt_eh says
Didn’t watch it in the first place.
I watch too many shows already. Not enough room to crowd in another.
sonny says
Most of the series so far has been simply uneventful (pun intended). Monday’s episode was entitled “Everything Will Change”—but thankfully for our entertainment, nothing did. All we got was the same stilted acting, the incredibly convoluted plot, and a whole lot of build-up to nothing.
Give us “The Cape” instead.I’m looking forward to see Summer Glau on a weekly basis again and hope she’ll have lots of success with The Cape.
ejdalise says
Yes, looking forward to The Cape as well. I’m hoping it does not wander into the “hero full of angst” realm, and that we don’t have to suffer the indignity of a mystical or magical component. Plus yes, it’ll be good to watch Summer stretch her acting bounds. I guess there are positives and negatives with being typecast, so I’m interested in seeing her in something other than I-can-kill-anything roles.
