The prequel to “The Thing” has been pulled from its April release date. And there’s no word yet on when or if we may see it in theaters.
The prequel to John Carpenter’s influential film is directed by filmmaker Matthijs van Heijningen Jr. and stars Joel Edgerson and Mary Elizabeth Winstead. Universal says the film needs more work before its release.
The studio moved up the release of the latest “Fast and Furious” sequel to the April release date and hasn’t given a new release date for “The Thing.”
That means we could see it next October for Halloween or possibly dumped in the wasteland of early winter films in 2012.
