“MegaMind” faced a lot of newcomers at the box-office this weekend, but still managed to hold on to the top spot. The film dropped just 35% from opening weekend to take in $30 million.
In second was the new comer, “Unstoppable” with Oscar-winner Denzel Washington. The movie had a solid debut with $23.5 million.
In third was “Due Date,” dropping 52% to $15.3 million.
Fourth place went to “Skyline” with $11.1 million. The film had a reported budget of $10 million, so it’s made back it’s production costs. It will be interesting to see how the film continues to fare in the weeks to come.
Fifth place went to “Morning Glory” with $9.6 million.
The competition really heats up this weekend as the first half of the final “Harry Potter” film opens.
