Zooey Deschanel Linked to Spider-Man Role

Zooey Deschanel Linked to Spider-Man Role

November 11, 2010 By Mike Hickerson 2 Comments

zooeyShe stole Arthur Dent’s heart as Trillian in “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.” Now she may steal Peter Parker’s heart in the upcoming “Spider-Man” reboot.

Actress Zooey Deschanel has been linked to the rule of Betty Brant for the upcoming Spidey movie.

Fans of the comics may recall that Betty was one of Peter’s first love interests. She worked as a secretary for J.J. Jonah Jameson at the Daily Bugle.

Deschanel has worked with Spidey director Marc Webb before on the romantic comedy “500 Days of Summer.” If cast, she’d take over the role of Betty from Elizabeth Banks.

Right now this is just a rumor. If we get confirmation we’ll bring it to you here on Slice of SciFi.

Between this, Emma Stone getting cast and me finally getting to see something in which Andrew Garfield is awesome (The Social Network was brilliant), I’m getting enthusiastic about this movie.
